Our Story

A display of prosperity.

Hengchen — a Chinese word meaning “Display of Prosperity” — opened its first doors in the UAE in 2010. What began as a single dining room has grown into a family of celebrated branches across the Emirates.

Our kitchens hold to a simple idea: that great Chinese cooking is built slowly. Stocks reduced for hours. Sauces layered with patience. Wok flames coaxed to the exact heat that gives food its wok-hei — its breath of fire.

Today we are exploring new horizons — Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Kingdom and Pakistan — while our flagship in Motor City remains what it has always been: a place to gather, to share, to eat well.
